| Last night us and the fam went out to eat, and then my brother-in-law took me to Xmen. 2nd movie in about 6 months...2nd movie in a week(elizabeth and i saw M-I-3 earlier in the week). I really enjoyed the movie. some things were confusing. but my bro-in-law and a couple of the guys with us were self professed comic book nerds and explained why certain things were awesome, certain things they werent pleased with, and how certain things were conscious changes to the story for film to make it great. anyways. i promised Elizabeth i'd see it with her too. it will be good to pay attention some certain details that the "comic book nerds" pointed out that i missed first time around.
one comic book movie i'll pass on will be Ghostrider. the trailers just make the art/digital animation stuff look like it was done by a guy who was just doing an internship trying to learn the craft and went a little over the top on some stuff...except for the skull..it looked so fake...it wasnt realistic like in, for example, Pirates of the Caribean. maybe i'm being harsh. actually i'll probably see it to see how it compares to the comics. Nicolas Cage will probalby do a good job. | | |
| Owen and i had some father and son time this weekend at the Zoo (we live about 2 miles from Jack Hannah's Columbus Zoo & Aquarium).
This was the last shot i was able to get before my camera broke...but moments after this Owen jumped on the alligator, held his mouth shut with one hand, took the duct tape from his back pocket and taped his mouth shut. it was AMAZING!

then he spent some time going "OOH...AHHH....FISSSSHHHHH....YAY" with his face up against the glass :)

| "A master in the art of living draws no sharp distinction between his work and his play; his labor and his leisure; his mind and his body; his education and his recreation. He hardly knows which is which. He simply pursues his vision of excellence through whatever he is doing, and leaves others to determine whether he is working or playing. To himself, he always appears to be doing both." -- Francois Auguste Rene Chateaubriand | | |
| So two years and 25 minutes ago (7:55pm CST) one of my best friends came in to the world.

Owen turned 2 today. We did a little celebrating today (since i was puking all morning from a stomach virus mom was in charge of most of it)...mom took him and his bro on a walk, he played on his new swingset, watched pretty much every Noggin and Disney Channel show, and got a birthday haircut..then tonight we went to this great restaurant in Columbus called BRAVO's..a little pricey for a 2 year old birthday dinner, but we had gift cards and owen ate off our plates :) the best part is all day he's been saying to his mommy "cake! cake! cake!". When the dinner was almost over and we said "do you want some cake?" his eyes lit up as if to say "you're kidding?!?". The guy brought it out with a candle and Owen blew it out on his own and pounding some chocolate & ice cream.
I love that guy...and can't wait to see him grow up.
